Hi Guys,

There is something weird happening. It’s certainly not me censoring anything. It doesn’t appear to be related to the previous hack either. But my hosting folk are looking into it right now.

I hope not too much has disappeared. What was the discussion about that vanished? I never got an RSS alert for that either! Maybe I’ve got a poltergeist on the site.

Ooooh – that was weird. I just got an email from Capall Bann Publishing to say that they have a new book available called “Mary Magdalene, Lost Goddess, Lost Gospels” by Jan McDonald. 8O

Link to their website is here: [url:dw4few8s]http://www.capallbann.co.uk/news.cfm
(I must add it to the links section as they have quite a bit of interest.)

And the thought of Mary Magdalene being some special initiate again raises the question of what her relationship was to the other “special initiate” – Lazarus. On the face of it they are brother and sister. But from the Secret Gospel of Mark we know that Lazarus was given a special initiation by Jesus. Possibly there were two special initiations in the same family but the odds are against it (particularly as Martha is clearly *not* initiated) so you begin to wonder if Mary Magdalene/Lazarus might not be the same character whose identity has been deliberately distorted. The idea that MM was The Beloved Disciple is not particularly new (e.g. see [url:1pweqz5f]http://ramon_k_jusino.tripod.com/magdalene.html for a more coherent version than what you’ll find in the Da Vinci Code) but if you are appropriating the unamed male youth, why not go all the way and suggest that MM and Lazarus are the same person too?

    Hi Yuri/Vyxen,

I hate to spoil a good conspiracy theory but I think the explanation is more mundane. What is carved on the wall is almost certainly just the Latin variants of the four evangelists name – each linked to their corresponding “animal” or tetramorph.

Thus if Vyxen could see the other names I would guess that they would turn out to be along the lines of: Matthaeus/Man, Marcus/Lion, Lucas/Bull and Joannes/Eagle

Here is a decent illustration of what I’m talking about

    [url:1pdywnwx]http://www.conceptionabbey.org/Basilica/Angels/evangelist.htm

although this pairing is very common and you should find many examples of it. We’re just not used to seeing the Latin variants of the names but they must have been used up until very recently (1965?) when the mass was still said in Latin.

I agree, sounds great, Yuri. I probably shouldn’t be posting this on a public forum 8O but I still remember looking at Brian Froud’s original book of faeries when I was an adolescent and the psychic charge packed by the picture of the fairy with the snail slithering over her breast!

in reply to: Xmas Break #1877

    Hi Vyxen,

Your St Joanna is almost certain St John author of the fourth Gospel (maybe  ). The four evangelist were represented by four animals. See the conversation between Yuri, Supernaturalist and myself in The Icon Trail thread in this forum (e.g. [url:795fuhpb]http://www.psychicquesting.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=87#87) for more .

    Cheers,

    Hi All,

I’m back with my folks in Ireland for Christmas – close to Newgrange and the Boyne Valley.

I’m heading back to Larchill this afternoon so will see if I can pick up any more of the “soap opera” there. I’ll bring a camera this time so hopefully I’ll be able to post a few snaps later on.

Thanks to everyone for contributing so much over the past year. I have many New Year’s resolutions regarding more content for the site so hopefully I’ll have the discipline to carry out at least some of the ideas!!

    All the best,

    Simon

    Hi Perceval,

“I believe that no ‘journey to the otherworld’ is over until you return and use whatever treasures you gained on your trip for the benefit of this world.”

This is certainly the sequence in the Hero’s Journey where you must “return with the elixir” (this is also depicted in the Sun, Judgement and World cards in the Tarot pack). But that describes a narrative structure and although I’m the first to self-mythologise, I wonder if life really follows the pattern that neatly.

However, your discovery sounds fascinating. I’m hoping that the site is somewhere in Surrey! I always feel cheated that there are so few (if any?) scared sites nearby. The Glastonbury crowd get all the fun  .

I guess one thing that you could do is go to the site and visualise light beaming from you (or from “above” and via you) into the site. If you’re psychically sensitive you might, as you suggest, try and contact a site guardian and see what they have to say (I have to admit that the limit of my own psychic ability in this regard is the tendency to get dumped on my butt whenever a site guardian is active). I’m sure that there are others here (I’m thinking Yuri and Vyxen) who might suggest full-blown rituals that could be used although I guess that also depends on what type of site it is and what “vibe” you get from the site or guardian.

On a more mundane level I guess it depends who owns the land the site is on and how easy acess is. You might want to get some experts (archaeologists, I guess, if there are any remaining structures) to give it the once over to see if they can rule out your theory.

Again, though. sounds very exciting. I had thought at one time that I was going to be able to link Cowdray Castle in Midhurst to the Catholic faction involved in the gunpowder plot and Graham and Andrew’s Green Stone but so far that hasn’t transpired so I’m very envious :D

    Hi Perceval,

Thanks for the book review – it does sound relevant. I’d be very interested in reading it when you’re finished but I have a mountain of books that I’m supposed to be reading so there’s absolutely no rush.

Your mention of the “how to of questing” also made me realise that there is a major stream of discussion missing here on exactly that. So I’ve created a new forum called “Psychic questing: How to”. This is where novice questers can ask “How do I?” type questions and where (hopefully!) more experienced questers will proactively post their tips and tried and trusted techniques.

If we get a bit of critical mass behind this, I could even roll this up into an online guide of some kind.

Now I am fully aware that there are few fixed rules or laws in questing and that a large percentage of what goes on is improvised depending on circumstance. Having said that, I do believe that there is some merit to describing certain techniques that are used often (from meditations, protection rituals, communing with site guardians to mundane research tips) – and I’m hoping that people will contribute what works for them into this new forum.

Let me know what anyone thinks of this idea.

in reply to: Michael (supernaturalist) #1852

    Hi Michael,

Since this thread got stirred up again I realised that I had never properly explained my comments about the triangle formed by the three crooked lines. What I had in mind was something like this:

(Sorry it’s a fairly rough sketch and all the lengths of the lines should be equal and the angles the same…but hopefully you get the idea.)

Every line sticks one end into the belly of another line and in turn gets another line stuck into its belly. Obviously you need to move the lines closer until they all join up.

My query is whether the symbol is rightly viewed as a triangle(with optional flourishes), which is what we’ve been focussing mostly on so far in this thread, or the three crooked lines as in the diagram above and in the three-legged Brigit’s cross. Or maybe both aspects are correct.

    in reply to: subscriber? #1842

    Hi Perceval,

The subscriber option is whether you have chosen to receive the psychicQuesting.com “newsletter” or not. In fact no such newsletter exists but I do use the opt-in list (albeit very rarely) if I need to quickly email all those who have “opted in”.

If you want to switch it on you should go to the “Your Account” menu then choose “Your Info” and about halfway down that page you’ll see the option that says “receive newsletter by email”.

Let me know if you need any further help and welcome to to website. I hope to see you posting soon again soon!

    Cheers,

    Simon

    Hi Aurora,

Welcome to the site. As Yuri says please feel free to join in any ongoing discussions or post your own news/views/ideas. Also if you have any suggestions for the site don’t be shy about putting them forward.

in reply to: QUEST CON 05 #1831

    Hi Yuri,

I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t make it at all. I fully intended to but a variety of mundane obstacles (mostly work related) conspired to prevent me. I guess my only defence is that there didn’t appear to be any direct psychic questing talks this year but still, a bad miss.

I’ve had quite a bit of interesting stuff going on recently – for example I’m just back from a practical healing seminar – and if and when it falls into some kind of shape I’ll post some new thoughts.

Shamanism does appear to be forming a strong thread at the moment. I’ve put a couple of Daniel Pinchbeck quotes on the front page as the thought for the week. They’re taken from an excellent, and sometimes prickly, article with Daniel on Tim Boucher’s website: [url:30bw5315]http://www.timboucher.com/journal/2005/10/26/evolver-an-interview-with-daniel-pinchbeck-part-1/.

Did anyone else go to QuestCon and if so what were the bits that you liked?

in reply to: Mary Magdalene #1827

That’s good info, Supernaturalist. Apart from the particularly relevant question that you raise, the other issue is that if we disregard the “seven demons” passage in Mark as being a later addition, then we are only left with a single, ambiguous reference to the event (whatever it was!). So you do wonder what really went on. Maybe, to pick up on Yuri’s thread, John the Baptist had a hand in the proceedings.

in reply to: DaVinci Code, movie #1826

Purely by accident, eh? I don’t believe it for a moment. Either Tom Hanks is a secret occultist or Andrew’s next quest will take him to Hollywood.
