As I’m too cheap to pay for the official eBay connector, I had developed a little “screen scraping” code which sifted through a search result screen looking for the pieces that I was interested in.
I take these and put them into an RSS Feed ( http://www.psychicquesting.com/ebay2rss.php if you’re interested in adding this to a feed reader directly) which is accessed by the scrolling ticker block you see at the top of the main page.
Unfortunately eBay keep changing the format of their screens, and as my code relies on exact pattern matches, it keeps breaking – leaving a meaningless set of prices flying across the screen.
I’ve fixed it again this morning but if they keep up tyhe rate of change I may have to admit defeat. Besides the ticker is probably a bit silly (though technically satisfying!).
