Hello all. Nice to meet you all.

I hope I’m posting in the right folder, and I do hope someone can give me a bit of assistance. Very odd things are happening, and I don’t know what to make of it. So, to begin…
I live in the US. I have a friend in England, Berkshire, to be precise. In probably about January of this year I began to become restless, culiminating in leaving my job. While talking with my British friend, I decided (for no apparent reason) to move to England. This occurred in about September. It just seemed the thing to do at the time. Basically, it felt “right”. One evening I was looking at a British map, and felt immediately drawn to one particularly county – Shropshire. I’d never been to England, knew no one who had ever been to Shropshire, and knew absolutely nothing about it. I just knew that’s where I wanted to be. Why? No clue.
So, I started researching a bit. I looked at pics of the area on the web, read up on it, listened to bbc shropshire, in short, i couldn’t get enough of Shropshire. Other areas were beautiful, and London is certainly interesting, and i do admit a desire to visit those areas, but I did not get the same “feeling” about them as I did Shropshire.
One evening I came across a photo, and my immediate reaction (and feeling) was that I’d been there. I recognized two buildings on a street immediately, and remembered dreaming of them just a week or so prior. The feeling I had, though, wasn’t one of recognizing something I’d seen in a pic or a dream or a movie, it was a sure sense of having been there – much like the feeling of looking at one’s childhood home. But, this wasn’t a home. These buildings were stores in a marketplace.
This was so odd that it sent me looking for other things that evening. I discovered a town called “Albrighton”, and remembered my mother’s maiden name was Albritton. Sure enough, after contacting a relative I discovered that’s where her family lived prior to appx. 1666. I thought that a bit odd.
Then, I stumbled across an article on The Gunpowder Plot, and discovered a man named “Thomas Smart” was executed in this area for harboring a couple of the conspirators. My mother’s maternal grandmother was a Smart, and rumor has it we are descended from the Original settlers of the Roanoke Colony – the Lost Colony, in North Carolina. Those settlers who were lost are said to have merged with the local Native American population – among them, Thomas Smart from whom I am said to descend (no proof, but that’s my grandmother’s theory).
A little more reading leads to the name “William Parker”. I am also a descendant of one William Hall Parker, of the Carolinas. Nothing can be traced past him. I just think that’s kinda weird.
Then, I perform a search on Glastonbury (no obvious reason, simply curiosity) and found an article on the Meonia Stone. Again, the gunpowder plot and one of the men my supposed ancestor was accused of hiding was involved. Again with the weird.
Oh, and one more thing – these discoveries began happening about 2 days before Guy Fawkes Day. I had no clue what it was until all of this started happening. Weird yet again.
So, I don’t know if this is all just coincidence, or if there may be more to this. Any help you could give me either way would be appreciated.
November 30, 2007 at 9:14 am #2449Hi Josie and welcome to psychicQuesting.com. This is the exact right place for your question.
I have a pet theory that at a certain point the distinction between genealogical research and psychic questing begins to blur. My father has been carrying out some recently on both the history of the family and the history of the family home and it’s amazing how patterns repeat themselves down the generations. Usually, in the course of the research, all sorts of synchronicities and “psychic clues” will drop in – just like a more formal quest.
In fact I would go so far as to suggest (and I’m not sure if others will agree with me) that genealogoical research is sort of a “soft introduction” to psychic questing.
Anyway enough of my gabbing – as for your question, on a radio show a few years ago I heard Antonia Fraser being interviewed about her (then new) book on the Gunpowder Plot called “Faith and Treason”. It sounded very good and I made a mental note to read it – precisely because of the potential Meonia stone tie-in. I never did get around to it but it might throw up some more clues for you to follow. Here’s the link to it on Amazon (UK):

Maybe someone else who knows the areas you mention can point you to other sources of info.
Cheers,
Simon
November 30, 2007 at 9:30 am #2450Hi Simon, and thanks for your response.
Quote:I have a pet theory that at a certain point the distinction between genealogical research and psychic questing begins to blur.See, that’s my point. I wasn’t doing genealogical research. This all just sort of fell into my lap, and I recognised the names from past genealogical research.
Quote:My father has been carrying out some recently on both the history of the family and the history of the family home and it’s amazing how patterns repeat themselves down the generations.Oh yeah. It’s fascinating, innit? Lots of repetition.
Quote:In fact I would go so far as to suggest (and I’m not sure if others will agree with me) that genealogoical research is sort of a “soft introduction” to psychic questing.I can certainly see that.
Quote:I never did get around to it but it might throw up some more clues for you to follow. Here’s the link to it on Amazon (UK):Thanks! I’ll take a look, and see if it offers any clues.
Quote:Maybe someone else who knows the areas you mention can point you to other sources of info. That would be great! I’m really a bit confused by this whole sequence of events, and I’m not sure if this is some sort of psychic quest or if it is all just coincidence. This whole psychic quest thing is very new to me, but I do find it fascinating. I’m just a bit unsure – which is very unusual for me because I have always been intuitive, (as are all the women in my family), but this is very different from anything i’ve experienced before.
Your help and guidance is most certainly appreciated and I look forward to learning more about psychic questing.
December 3, 2007 at 11:19 pm #2455A minor coincidence. I was just flicking through the TV channels just now and I stopped on one which was showing a “Ghost Hunt”. Turns out the hunters were at Eastbury Manor House ([url:3hiulsfb]http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-findaplace/w-eastburymanorhouse/[/url]) where the Gunpowder plot was apparently hatched. A clue in the trail?
December 4, 2007 at 12:51 am #2456Thank you for responding.

I’ll definitely check it out.
Edited because I sleepily misunderstood the post, originally. So sorry for anyone that read it.
