I’ve just been informed by my provider of a short outage (10 mins) that will happen late tonight (GMT). Last time it unfortunately coincided with a couple of posts (which were subsequently lost to posterity) so hopefully this advance warning will avoid repetition of same. They say:
“Window: 2nd May 2006, 23:50 to 2am. (Tuesday Night Wednesday Morning)
Reason: Replacement on one of the line cards in a core GSR routing appliance. Whilst this fault is currently not affecting service, it is necessary to replace the faulty card as soon as possible before it starts causing performance issues on the network. This will take place at ‘off peak’ time tonight.
Outage: There will be a single outage lasting no longer than 10 minutes towards the beginning of the maintenance window. Due to the nature of the work being performed on Core equipment, the service should be considered ‘at risk’ for the duration of the 2 hour window – however, it is anticipated there will be no more than the single brief outage.”
Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.
